I am a UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) accredited Group and Individual Psychodrama Psychotherapist and Supervisor.
I am also a certified Youth and Community Worker, Forest School Practitioner, Mountain Leader and Recognised Professional in Outdoor Learning.
I have extensive experience working with individuals and groups.
I work in a relational, collaborative, creative and embodied way.
This means that I work with you to co-create and develop a trusting and supportive therapeutic or supervisory relationship, offering creative and embodied practices to support the work that you want to do.
My approach is rooted in Psychodrama, and I also integrate other theoretical approaches, including Attachment Theory, Psychodynamic Theory, Polyvagal Theory, Systemic Thinking, Trauma-informed Practice, Ecopsychology and Geography.
I am a member of the British Psychodrama Association (BPA), the UKCP, the Institute for Outdoor Learning (IOL) and the Association for Outdoor Therapy (AOT), and work in accordance with their ethical codes of practice. I have regular clinical supervision, and am committed to my ongoing professional development, attending frequent trainings.
Most of my current psychotherapy and supervision work is in private practice. I have provided both individual and group therapy for a range of voluntary and statutory services, including Nottingham Women’s Centre, Nottingham Recovery Network, HMS Gartree Therapeutic Community and Catharsis Creative Arts Therapy. I currently work with adults, although I have provided psychotherapy for young people (14-18 years olds).
I regularly collaborate with colleagues to run psychodrama and psychotherapy workshops, most recently co-facilitating a Psychodrama Outdoors weekend in Croatia with Dijana Mateša. I also facilitate workshops for organisations and conferences, including the Institute for Outdoor Learning (IOL), Tele’Drama International, the British Psychodrama Association (BPA) and the Lindley Educational Trust.
I currently teach on the University of Cumbria’s MA in Outdoor and Experiential Learning, and on the Minster Centre’s first-year Diploma in Integrative Counselling.
Alongside my clinical, facilitation, and teaching work, I am actively involved in the wider professional community. I volunteer as a founding committee member of the Association for Outdoor Therapy (AOT) and as an executive committee member of the British Psychodrama Association (BPA). It is a privilege to contribute to these professional communities, connecting with colleagues, sharing learning, and supporting the ongoing development of our practice.
Prior to training as a psychotherapist, I spent many years working in education, youth and community work, and outdoor learning across the voluntary, statutory and private sectors in the UK and abroad. I worked for a wide range of organisations, including Venture Trust, The Prince’s Trust, Young Cumbria, Creative Partnerships and the Field Studies Council.
Much of this work involved supporting young people experiencing significant challenge and uncertainty in their lives. This work inspired me to train as a psychotherapist and to offer longer-term support and a safe, containing relationship in which to help people make sense of their experiences and work towards meaningful, lasting change.
